Catch him if you can!
It's another victory for Kimi Antonelli in Miami, extending his championship lead further

Antonelli continues his winning streak
It was another historic victory for Kimi Antonelli. He has become the first driver in Formula 1 history to convert his first 3 Pole Positions into Race Wins, as well as becoming the first driver to win from Pole in Miami. It was another tricky start for the Italian, locking up at turn 1, but he managed to come out of it P2, behind Leclerc. Over the race the battle at the top lost Leclerc and saw Lando Norris join, Norris leading the majority of the first half of the race. However Mercedes chose to box Antonelli before McLaren boxed Norris, which ended up giving the Italian the net lead, and it was a lead he wasn't going to lose. Taking his points tally to 100 now

McLaren are back fighting!
Miami delivered again for McLaren, who leave with a Sprint Win and the bitter taste of knowing they could've won the race. Norris very unhappy on the team radio on the race that they didn't box him earlier. However it was a 2-3 finish for the Papaya, and one where they proved a threat to Mercedes. Promising signs they can start to challenge at the top again following their upgrades. Although Mercedes do have a big upgrade package coming for Canada in 2 weeks time. Piastri is the only driver alongside Antonelli to have an 100% podium success rate in Grand Prix this season, even though he only has 2 from 4 races. McLaren now sit 16 points off of Ferrari for P2 in the Constructors Championship, a fight starting to brew for that spot.

A difficult weekend for Hadjar
After a very strong start for Hadjar, many were confident he could break the infamous 'second seat curse' at Red Bull. That sadly wasn't evidenced in Miami as he crashed out of the race. He started from the Pit Lane following a disqualification from Qualifying, and was making up good positions in the opening laps of the race. But on Lap 5 his race came to an abrupt end. The Frenchman clipped the chicane at turn 14, breaking his front-left suspension and sending his car into the barriers. Hadjar was visibly annoyed after the crash, hitting his helmet and his car. After the race he said: "This one really hurt because I had such good pace. It felt very easy overtaking." He wasn't the only crash on that lap as Liam Lawson came together with Pierre Gasly, sending the Alpine flipping into the barrier. Ending both their races and bringing out the safety car.

A dramatic affair for Verstappen
As is the case so often, Max Verstappen delivered excitement in the Grand Prix right from the start. Starting P2, he got a strong launch to challenge Leclerc for the lead in turn 1, but left it too late to brake, causing him to lock up and settle into 2nd, for about 10 metres, before dramatically spinning off the exit. The Dutchman quickly got his car facing the right way again, a move not easy to do, especially at the start of the race. Doing this avoided any collisions with those coming past him, but saw him drop to 10th. Where he had to fight hard to get overtakes done. Williams' Carlos Sainz saying on the radio: "He pushed me off. He thinks he can do whatever he wants just because he's racing the midfield". A representation of the aggressive driving Verstappen was using to desperately claw his way up thew field. When the safety car came out on lap 6, Verstappen was 1 of 2 drives to decide to box early, ditching his mediums for hards, tyres he stayed on for the rest of the 57 lap race. A decision which did see him finish P6 on the track, a good result after so long on the same tyre. But that wasn't the end of the drama for him. When he boxed, Verstappen crossed the white line separating the pit and the track at the pit exit. Which was investigated after the race rather than during, a decision that puzzled many. Once it was investigated though, he was given a 5 second penalty. Whilst this didn't cause him to loose any places, a penalty such as this, where it's a matter of fact not opinion, not being given during the race was very questionable.

Leclerc suffers a painful end
Leclerc once again enjoyed a strong start, taking the lead at turn 1 and leading most of the first 13 laps, before Lando Norris overtook him, then once Antonelli passed him a lap later, the fight for the win quickly became between 2. Leclerc being sucked into a fight with Oscar Piastri for the final podium position. A fight which went right onto the final lap after some brief cameos from Verstappen and Russell came and went. On that final lap though it all started to unravel for Leclerc, spinning and miraculously not hitting the wall hard enough to end his race. This ended his podium challenge and put him back with Russell and Verstappen in a dramatic fight for 4th. A battle he lost in the final corners, finishing 6th. This wasn't it for the Monegasque though. After the race, the stewards handed Leclerc a drive-through penalty, which was automatically converted to a 20 second penalty. The penalty was given for leaving the track on several occasions without a justifiable reason. This dropped him to P8. Behind Franco Colapinto, giving him a new best finish position after a strong weekend for the Argentine.
