Turkish Grand Prix set to return in 2027

F1 will return to Istanbul Park in 2027 for the return of a fan favourite race!

Formula 1 has today announced that the Turkish Grand Prix will return in 2027 on a 5 year contract. It featured on the calendar previously between 2005 - 2011. Then in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19 causing other races to be cancelled. In 2020 Lewis Hamilton secured his historic record-levelling 7th Driver's Title, and in 2021 Valtteri Bottas won his last race in F1 to date. It joins Portugal in a well received return to the calendar in 2027.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Turkey said, “Formula 1 ranks among the world’s foremost sporting events, distinguished by its spectacle, its young fan base, and its leadership in automotive technologies."

“In our country, too, Formula 1 enjoys a broad following across all age groups - especially among our youth - with a truly passionate fan base. The races reach nearly 19 million people in our country, while around 7.5 million follow them closely on social media."
